***I have had quite a few How To Train Your Dragon quotes and while that is a complimentary comparison this is in no way inspired by that film, as I had developed the idea behind these two way before that film came out ( and I had no idea about the books )It's been a couple of years since I last did a painting of this pair. Here they are trying to catch fish. This was when his dragon was a lot younger...they do grow up fast, do dragons. Same also applies to Eragon comparison! Not inspired by that either***
I will probably develop these into a children's picture book soon so expect a few more with these two and their adventures.

** Oh and I have just realised this is the second DD that this boy and his dragon have received! They got one back in 2008 with 'Fishing On The Drinking Dragon'
*** Oh and it has been selected to be in Expose 11 by Ballistic Publishing
Many, many congratulations. This is one of the first pieces of your work that caught my eye. I can see why they would want to publish it, its a fantastic piece. Much admiration.
hi andy...in searching for dragon and boy art work for a few pics to illustrate a childrens story i am writing for a very special little girl in the phillipines i found DA and your artwork, like this pic "the boy and his dragon"...this is my second story to her and wanted to use some art to help illustrate...the only profit from this will be the joy of seeing her smile and hearing her say "thank you daddy al...i love you thanks for thinking of me"...with that i would like to ask your permission to use this pic and maybe a few others for this purpose...if you agree will send you a copy of the story along with the artwork used when finished...her mother will be adding the art to the actual story for me...she studied photoshop in college...that stuff is to complicated for me...
